BERLIN - Erin Goodwin is getting some recognition following her senior season.
The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute women’s lacrosse defender and Berlin High School graduate was named to the All-Liberty League Second Team. The Engineers went 8-6 overall this season, including a 5-5 mark in Liberty League play.
Offensively, Goodwin recorded 15 points on 11 goals and four assists. Of her 29 shots, 18 were on goal. She also had one game-winning tally and one free-position tally. At the defensive end, Goodwin collected 26 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers, which was good for second on the team. She grabbed 17 draw controls and did not get carded all season. In conference play, Goodwin started al1 11 games, scoring seven goals and assisting on three more for 10 points. She recorded 16 shots (12 on goal) with 18 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 13 draw controls.
In 60 career games at RPI, Goodwin posted 23 goals and 11 assists for 34 points. She attempted 75 shots, including 50 on goal. Three of her goals were game-winners, while six were man-up. She eclipsed the century mark in ground balls with 105, while also registering 63 caused turnover and 67 draw controls.
