SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Community YMCA is bringing back the Southington Farmers Market for the summer and into the fall, starting on Friday.
The annual market has been bringing together local farmers and vendors to provide a variety of fresh and unique produce and products to Southington residents for the past several years.
It will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. each Friday through Oct. 4 on the Town Green across from Town Hall at 75 Main St.
Every Friday, residents are invited to join Connecticut farmers and additional vendors to see what freshly picked produce they have to bring from their farms. The market is a CT Grown market, meaning that all of the produce and products are either grown in Connecticut or made with Connecticut products.
Residents can also meet the farmers and vendors to learn more about their produce and product and their passion for what they sell.
The market will offer produce such as vegetables, flowers, pickles, cheese, pastries and artisan breads to locally made skin care products, arts and crafts and more. New seasonal products are added weekly.
The market features three farms: Gresczyk Farms of New Hartford, Twin Pines Farm of Thomaston and Rooster’s Rise Farm of Berlin along with a six additional vendors, including The Barkery On The Ave. Deli and Café from Berlin and Nonnie’s Pie & Creations.
