Peter R. Sokolowski, 46, of New Britain, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born in Poland, to Teofil and Danuta (Irzyk) Sokolowski, and came to the U.S. as a child. Pete attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from NBHS. He was a dedicated employee of Touchpoints of Farmington for 22 years. Pete enjoyed fishing, grilling food for family cookouts, and spending time with those closest to him. He was a good friend who had a kind heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Amanda Sokolowski; his sister, Margaret (Gosia) Ostrowski and her husband, Marcin; his adored nephews, Nathaniel and Jaycob; many aunts, uncles, and cousins both in the U.S. and in Poland, numerous friends especially Ben Collins who was like a brother to him and finally, Mya, his dog of 17 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated DIRECTLY at Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
