Newington police searching for Lowe's robbery suspect

NEWINGTON - A shoplifting incident at Lowe’s Home Improvement turned into what police described as a strong-arm robbery Thursday.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m.

The suspect - described as a Hispanic man, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighing 190 pounds - took off with a Craftsman tool kit valued at $400, according to police. Additional details on the incident were not available.

The suspect was seen driving off in a green 2000 Toyota Sienna. Police were searching the area for the suspect Thursday afternoon.
