To The Editor:

Crystal St. Lawrence possesses the high level of clear thinking, commitment, experience and dedication required to be an effective Board of Education member. Having had the opportunity to serve with her, I know that she is passionately committed to our district. Crystal is a thoughtful member of the BOE, she approaches issues by listening to everyone involved and carefully considers what the effect will be on students, teachers, the district and the citizens of Plainville. She understands that strong schools are the basis of a community and keep property values high.

Crystal was an advocate for the School Resource Officer and Indoor Track at PHS and was not afraid to speak out on behalf of these and other important issues. She understands that during times of flux with state budgets we must remain focused on what benefits students, not just a dollar amount, but the value of what those dollars bring.

Outside of the BOE Crystal is a tireless volunteer in our schools and in our community. We need elected officials who are dedicated to our town and Crystal can be found wherever there is a need. Whether in the schools or on the 150th Committee, her dedication is evidenced by her actions.

Local elections affect our lives on a daily basis and it is so important to vote for those people who possess the qualities we need in our leaders: thoughtful considerate action, dedication, intelligence and commitment. Crystal is committed to our town, our citizens, our students and schools.

We need her to keep Plainville Community Schools moving forward.

Please join me in supporting Crystal and the other Democratic Board of Education candidates: Foster White, Brent Davenport and Rebecca Martinez on November 5th.
